NAHCON Reaffirms Neutrality in Discharging Obligations – Chairman

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has reassured the public of its commitment to maintaining neutrality and fairness in discharging its responsibilities to stakeholders.

The Executive Chairman of NAHCON, Prof. Saleh Usman, made this known on Wednesday in a statement issued by the commission's Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Mrs. Fatima Usara.

Addressing recent complaints regarding the selection of 10 lead Private Tour Operators certified to handle the 2025 Hajj operations under the private sector, the commission reiterated its readiness to formally address grievances.

"The commission wishes to inform the public that it is prepared to entertain complaints against any of the lead companies in line with its commitment to handling allegations in a just and impartial manner," the statement read.

Prof. Usman urged groups or individuals with credible evidence against the selection of any of the certified companies to submit their claims on or before Friday, January 3, 2025.

"Such evidence will facilitate a review of the selection process and a thorough re-investigation. This will enable the commission to take appropriate action if the allegations are substantiated," he stated.

He assured that all submissions would be treated with confidentiality and that investigations would be conducted in accordance with NAHCON's commitment to transparency and fairness.

Prof. Usman also appealed for the cooperation and understanding of stakeholders and the public in achieving the commission’s objectives.
